  17. This is the first program J.Q.L. released for Windows* on 1st June 1993.
  18. The program converts weights & measures from one type to another
  19. automatically and is simplicity itself to use.
  20.  
  21. Weights & Measures 1.1 was reviewed by PC Plus, issue 84, September 1993,
  22. who said of Weights & Measures "..you'll find W&M invaluable", and "..W&M
  23. screen display shows all the units for each mode simultaneously, making it
  24. extremely easy to switch between the individual measurement systems." and
  25. "..extremely well crafted and quite useful".  PC Plus gave Weights &
  26. Measures a 4 out of 5 value rating and had nothing against the program.

  28. Transend, one of the major UK Shareware vendors said of Weights & Measures
  29. 1.1  "..very useful" and "..it is certainly very easy to use".

  31. High praise indeed for a first program for Windows*.

  33. Now in version 2, it is even easier to use, has a completely context
  34. sensitive Help, more conversions,  is even more accurate than before using,
  35. where possible, conversion factors correct to a minimum seven decimal
  36. points!, has 3D and colour which is configurable by the user, the main
  37. control is a Tool Bar which can be placed anywhere on your screen, and uses
  38. very little of your Systems resources - only 10% when every single window
  39. is displayed.

  115. Pools Plan, works with the new "Jackpot" system, the ordinary pools and
  116. with the Australian pools.  It requires NO tedious entering of the results
  117. (as some pools systems require), and is simplicity itself to use.  Pools
  118. Plan predicts Score Draws, Away Wins and Home Wins simultaneously and gives
  119. both rankings and percentage chances of a particular result.  The
  120. percentages and rankings can be printed out or copied to the Windows*
  121. Clipboard.

  123. The Help file is context sensitive and there is a "Hint Line" to help you
  124. at the bottom of the window.  The help file also has information on
  125. completing your coupon and how to use the information provided by the
  126. program.

  135. J.Q.L. HORSE FORM LITE for WINDOWS    (14.99 Sterling or 30.00 US Dollars)

  138. This is a small Horse Racing Predition program for Windows 3.1 and better.
  139.      
  140. The first time this program was used on a race it picked three out of the
  141. first four horses home. Not bad for a first test so I included that race in
  142. the Help file as an example.
  143.  
  144. Horse Form Lite uses the information published in most daily newspapers to
  145. make its predictions, so there is no need to buy a specialist racing paper to
  146. use it, unless of course you want to.
  147.  
  148. There is no tedious entering of the results of each race, and Horse Form Lite
  149. automatically keeps a record of the Horses' names you have entered - up to a
  150. maximum of 32676. Finding a Horse once it has been entered into the program is
  151. simplicity itself, just enter the first two or three letters of the Horse's
  152. name and it will usually be displayed on the screen for you to select.

  154. Horse Form Lite, frequently picks the winners and sometimes picks the long-
  155. odds winners which everyone has overlooked, it picks the horse most likely to
  156. win, which isn't always the favourite!

  158. It has a context sensitive Help File and hints for the information it requires
  159. which makes it very easy to use. It also has user configurable 3D and Colour,
  160. and will give you a print out of the predictions if so required.

  173. What is the best method of distributing information to ensure that every
  174. Windows User can read it?       The Windows Help File.
  175.  
  176. The Help Files are not only useful as a reference files, they can be used
  177. as Tutorials, Reports, Guides, Company Information, Sales Manual, Product
  178. Manual and many more uses where structured information is used or needs to
  179. be distributed.  The beauty of the Windows Help File is it doesn't require
  180. a host program, all Windows Operating Systems have it built in. The maximum
  181. amount of space is available on your distribution media for the Help File
  182. and anyone with Windows* can read it.
